the first thing i noticed was the silence
its always so quiet now
how funny it is to fully experience time again
seconds feel like hours
hours feel like days
and days feels like weeks
i cant remember if it always felt like this
sometimes i relish the quiet
its nice to have only one voice in your head again
to not be so enmeshed and in sync
but sometimes…the silence is so loud
its an oppressive and suffocating thing
this is when i miss you the most
this is when i miss me most too
that version of me you took with you
she knew how to do more than just bear the silence
she embraced the endless space between words unsaid
because she wasnt waiting for you to speak
there was no you
only her
silence is the absence of sound
but nothing was missing when it was just me
its always so quiet now.
